About

Welcome. I’m Fly Mom. My husband (Fly Dad ;-) and I met while both serving as Army Pilots. Hence our bloggy names. :-) … Although he has yet to write a post… :-) no idea if he ever will… ;-D

I started this blog partially to keep friends and family updated on our lives, but also to chronicle our life’s journey for ourselves. I am now a stay at home mom and have become a hermit thanks to the life that comes with having small yet adorable tornadoes at home… Writing is my creative outlet. If you’ve just surfed on in, then welcome. As is often said in these parts “y’all come.”

As a family we are learning that less is more and are working towards lives of obedience to our merciful Savior.

Husband and I love our faith, our children, and most things geeky in nature. This blog will be a hodge podge of topics along those lines as told through the stories of our whirlwind life in the trenches of parenthood.

Thanks for stopping by!

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable.” – C. S. Lewis

  1. Hi, I stopped by from 5 minute Friday but I did not see a spot where I could comment on the post you submitted. Let me start by saying I LOVED your post and let me continue by apologizing for our fellow blogger who failed to encourage you in your writing. Perhaps they are the one who is “doing everything wrong” since they clearly missed the rule, in the blog and in life, that if you can’t say anything nice just shut the hell up!! Have a great day and thank you for your service.
